The Key Stage 4 Curriculum at Matravers has been designed to be as adaptable as possible to ensure that all students have the opportunity to fulfil their potential as well as meeting their needs. The curriculum model offers students approximately 33 level 2 subjects to choose from, including the core subjects of English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science and PE. To help students make the most of these opportunities three pathways have been created which offer guidance on the most suitable subjects for different types of learners. The subjects on offer vary from each pathway but flexibility between pathways is possible if it is considered to be in the students’ best interest.
Making Choices
All students will be put into one of three coloured pathways, based on their attainment at KS3. The colours are yellow, blue and green. These pathways determine the number of GCSE or equivalent qualifications that students will obtain and in some cases, the combination of subjects that they can choose.
